This article is about CBD oil AKA cannabidiol oil.
There’s a lot of misconception about CBD oil out there, so I decided to clear the air.

What Is CBD Oil?

CBD oil is oil that comes from a cannabis plant.
So what makes cannabidiol oil, not marijuana oil, is the cannabis plant.
Cannabis Sativa species has two different kinds of species Hemp and Marijuana.
You don’t get high on hemp but marijuana.

There’s a legal distinction between the two plants based on how much THC is inside the plant,
If there’s less than 0.3 percent THC in the cannabis plant, it’s considered a hemp plant.
If there’s more than 0.3 percent THC held in cannabis, It’s a marijuana plant.

So that’s going to be an essential distinction because CBD oil usually comes from a hemp plant.

The idea is that you get a lot of the benefits from a cannabis plant.
But without the THC, the exceedingly high component might give you a psychoactive high.

Why Do We Care About CBD?

Why do we care about the cannabis plan in general because cannabis and cannabinoids interact with the endocannabinoid system in our body? Endocannabinoid is a system in our body that governs different aspects of our immune system of pain receptors of our mood.
Hence, if you get these molecules in your body, it has some governance over those processes,

Three things can interact with your endocannabinoid system.

  • You have endogenous, or your body makes its cannabinoids that interact with that system.
  • Phytocannabinoids or Phyto plant cannabinoids these molecules extract from plants. So those are molecules that include THC, The psychoactive component in cannabis plants. Cannabidiol or CBD, another cannabinoid that doesn’t interact with the receptors, gets you high. But do a lot of the other things that interact with that endocannabinoid system.
  • Laboratory-derived cannabinoids, so are medical compounds like Marinol that the FDA has regulated. But also street drugs like spice which are laboratory synthesized THC.

CBD Oil As A Medicine

There was a lot of increased interest in 2018 when the FDA approved a pure cannabidiol oil called Epidiolex for a rare form of juvenile seizures. They found that this CBD oil could reduce seizures in its most purified form. These kids were having, so after a rigorous trial and rigorous safety studies, it was approved.

The current body of medical literature surrounding CBD oil is a little bit sparse. But there’s more data coming out. as of now, many animal studies are looking at cannabidiol oil for pain and mood in addiction.

We’re seeing many small size 10 15 20 people enrolled in these small trials of CBD oil, where there are some exciting outcomes. but it’s worth looking at and putting our feelers out to see what comes out over the next few years

Is CBD Safe?

An essential safety study is with the Epidiolex, the FDA-approved CBD. Other forms of CBD have had some smaller-scale safety studies, and no critical adverse outcomes have come out of those yet. a couple of things they have noted is that it can interfere with some of your laboratory tests, including your liver function panels, and it can also interfere possibly with blood thinners like coumadin, our anti-seizure medicines it can affect the levels of those in your bloodstream okay next topic

Is CBD legal?

1970. the controlled substance act banned marijuana hemp and all related products. They put it under the jurisdiction of the DEA made it in an illegal substance.

2014 when an agricultural act, also known as the farm bill, legalized hemp for research purposes.

The bill designates that the hemp plant, although still a cannabis plant. Is legally defined as a plant with less than 0.3 percent THC.

Hemp is Federally legalized With The 2018 Farm Bill.

They’ve told you that you could grow this product at the national level. You can grow hemp plants with less than 0.3 percent THC, and you can start making products from them. The tricky part is when we get down to a state level. Check your state guidelines because the federal regulations still say the states can have governance over their jurisdiction. Louisiana’s exact stipulations are if you plan on buying CBD oil.

FDA did a survey back in when it was 2017, and they randomly picked 84 online products.

They looked at the labels on the bottle for accuracy.

The study finds that only 26 of the 84 are label accurately—more THC is in the bottle. And there is less CBD than they said there is. In a couple of case studies where kids took it. They got high with the THC from these CBD oils.

There’s been a little more progress since then now that the USDA regulates it. It’s not a controlled substance anymore. There have been some trends, and the primary trend is that companies producing CBD oil are sending their product every batch they make.

They brew it in a big pot. That’s not really how it works, but that’s how I imagine in my brain. And that batch sends to a lab that’s unrelated to the company. They say you test this to make sure it doesn’t have any impurities in it. Such as heavy metals, and make sure it has the amount of CBD we say it does.

It has the amount of THC we say it does or none at all. Many of these companies are linking those batch reports on their website or even on their bottle label.

You can easily access it and learn what’s in this oil.

How To Pick Out The Right CBD Product

Three different types of CBD oil are;

purified CBD oil

Before we continue, please have a quick peek at the CBD oil product available on the affiliate website.

Full-spectrum is if you take the flower the leaves, you extract the oil and don’t remove anything from it.

There’s still a little bit of THC, CBD also there are all the other parts of the plant that we broadly classify as a compound called terpenes. And there are many types of terpenes.

It is known as an entourage effect. So unlike typical pharmaceutical medicines that you might get for your diabetes or your blood pressure, you usually have one active ingredient.

The entourage effect holds all of the valuable goods within this plant into our product.

Because there have been some small-scale studies that show cannabidiol oil works best when mixed with terpene and THC. If you are looking for all the goods that the hem oil has to offer, you would ask for a full-spectrum oil.

Broad-spectrum is the entire plant, but they remove all THC from it, so it’s got 0% THC, so that might be important if you want to make sure you don’t feel like a drug screen in the future. If it’s completely illegal for any THC content in your state, then you might want to look for a broad spectrum.

Purified CBD oil contains no terpenes and THC., so you wouldn’t get the entourage effect in that product because it would just be the CBD. Advocates of CBD oil ham up the entourage effect and believe you don’t want pure CBD oil. But a lot of this is anecdotal, which means there is no proof behind it.

What To Look For When Buying CBD Oil?

  • Oil extracted CBD is safe, healthy and co2 is the best method of extraction.
  • Look for a product with batch testing, so they have a lab analysis from a third-party source that says what’s in the development and has a QR code (tiny barcodes you can scan with your iPhone to link to the certificate of analysis from the lab). In case you pulled over, and there’s this weird bottle of oil in your car. The police officers can scan the QR code and check out the lab analysis. It has zero percent THC in it.
  • Something you should look for also shows that it doesn’t have heavy metals or pesticides containing the product.
  • The last part is certified by any government-regulated agency. USDA organic certified does it have good manufacturing practices certification, so these are some things. It falls under the USDA and not an illegal substance that more and more companies will be getting certified.
